Strong Deliverer

When I am so tired, when I am hopeless, I need God more than everything. I feel like I only have God, my hope is only in Him. I can’t help myself, I need God.

Strength will rise as we wait upon the LORD that’s what I believe. Our God, our hope, our strong deliverer. Thanks, God. I need You more. I need Your help. I love You, Dad.

Satu Pelajaran Penting

Dear all, lama tidak menulis. Hari ini saya banyak merenung tentang hidup. Saya merenung tentang keberhasilan dan kegagalan saya selama 13 tahun terakhir. Dan, saya menemukan 1 pelajaran penting:

Kejatuhan orang yang percaya disebabkan karena kesombongannya (his arrogance).

Pujian, gelar, piagam, naik jabatan, promosi-promosi lain bisa membuat orang benar jatuh. Kenapa? Karena ketika ia merasa dirinya berhasil, disitulah ia rentan melupakan Tuhan yang membuatnya berhasil.

• 2 Samuel 8 bercerita tentang kemenangan-kemenangan Daud dalam perang
• 2 Samuel 9 bercerita tentang bagaimana Daud menggunakan kekuasaannya untuk menolong orang lain (Mefiboset)
• 2 Samuel 10 bercerita lagi tentang kemenangan Daud
• 2 Samuel 11 bercerita tentang kejatuhan Daud dalam dosa, yaitu ketika ia memutuskan untuk berhenti berperang, bersantai-santai dan menugaskan anak buahnya.

“Terlena” oleh keberhasilan, oleh pujian, oleh kekuasaan, adalah awal kejatuhan orang benar. Tuhan mengijinkan kita jatuh, bukan karena Ia tidak sayang. Tapi justru sebaliknya, Ia ingin mengajari kita untuk tidak sombong dan segera bertobat.

Daud, buktinya. Pertobatan yang ia alami begitu luar biasa setelah ia jatuh dalam dosa. Kata-kata terakhirnya (2 Samuel 23) menunjukkan siapa Tuhan di mata Daud, dimana ia memanggil Tuhan dengan sebutan Gunung Batu. Ia menyadari betul bahwa hanya Tuhanlah yang menyelamatkan. Hanya Tuhan yang menjadi kekuatan dan tempat perlindungan bagi orang percaya. Kesuksesan datangnya dari Tuhan. Kemuliaan hanya bagi Dia.

Mysterious Power of God's Word

²⁶ He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. ²⁷ Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. ²⁸ All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. ²⁹ As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”

The seed is God’s word. The way of the Kingdom is unknown. It’s full of mysteries. Mystery of repentance when a person hears the Word. Mystery of obedience when someone decides to obey. Miracle happens when He speaks into your life. God’s word works in a mysterious way that no mind can comprehend. You’ll only see the harvests, and you worship God because you know He’s the artist who makes it happen.

Deceitfulness of Wealth

Mark 4

¹⁸ Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; ¹⁹ but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.

Wealth is deceitful.

Its lies: “you will be happy when you have me. You won’t need God if you have me. I am the only thing you need to pursue. Worship me!”

God’s truth: There’s no peace like what God offers! Contentment is only in His presence. Worship God only!
