God Wants to Speak With You

Few days ago, I was walking towards the university and I was thinking about my application to continue my study. I need 2 or 3 lecturer’s recommendations to satisfy one of the university’s requirements, but currently I do not have any. Then, I said to myself: “If just, when I continue walking, I would meet my lecturer, Paul, it would be good so that I can ask his recommendation.” Few minutes later, I was surprised and really happy to meet Paul at the street walking towards me. Indeed, I asked him to be my referee, and he said yes.

I believe that our God hears EVERY prayer. It is up to Him to answer “YES” quickly, slowly, or even say “NO” as He knows that He has something better for us. Our God, He still answers prayers. Jesus said "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” What a wonderful promise. It is sad though when sometimes, we do not want to pray because we think it is just unnecessary or a waste of time. We are not only missing the solutions to our problems, but moreover we’re missing the opportunity to communicate with our God.

One might ask: “does He only listen? can He speak?”

Some days later, when I was praying. A whisper came into my heart: “be still”. I knew it was God. I prayed and a song came up to my mind. I remember that many years ago, king David sang this song:

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters.  He restores my soul, He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psa 23:1-4 NKJV)

Just as King David, I sang the song. I sang “You are a good Shepherd, You lead my life, and lead me beside the still waters and restore my soul. Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear, for You are with me.”

Finished singing, I opened my bible. As I opened my bible, I was surprised, it was Psalm 23: “The Lord is My Shepherd”!!!

Here’s what I know, our God is not a silent God. He is a speaking God. But, a voice can be heard when there is someone speaking and someone listening. When God speaks, will you listen? The bible is the word of God, but it can only be heard when we open it and read it with our heart thirsting after Him. If you are not thirsty, ask for it. Ask God for the thirst and hunger after Him.

These stories are facts for me, but my prayer is that we all have different stories with God. We all leave our sinful life and turn back to our loving God. No matter how sinful we are, God is able to forgive and deliver us from the bondage of sin. However, that requires trust. That requires one trusting Him and His grace through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, instead of trusting his/her own strength.

God loves you, and He wants to speak with you.

No More Discount

If you buy a house for $1,000,000,000; would you sell it for $1? Now, you believers were bought not by silver nor gold, but by the precious blood of Jesus. Would you sell yourself, your vision, your God for any sum of money or fame? Would you sell your heavenly and eternal gifts for an earthly and temporary wealth?

Feeling worthless and no one appreciate you? take a look at the cross. Someone shed His precious blood for you. Not as a license to do sin, but as an atonement to free you from the chains you have. So that you may live a life worthy to be lived.

Take a look at the cross, and remember this. If you forget all things, remember this. Jesus died for you to give you freedom from the bondage of sin so that you may glorify GOD.

WHOLE

david

When the world and myself see me as incomplete, Jesus Christ sees me wholly. I am whole, a complete man, lack nothing as His love is more than enough for me.

Praise my God.
